TELLING OUR STORIES

Main objective:
During the semester, students will read short stories in their extensive reading sessions and write a different ending or a new chapter to the story.

Material
Computer and headphones, teachers should have access to the internet and  USB if there is no internet access in the school.


Procedure

1. Teacher tells students they will be
recording a show and uploading it to the Web using Podomatic.

2. Students are divided into groups of 4 to discuss and plan what story they are going to work with and to decide if they are going to write a different ending to the story read or a new chapter. They will revise with their group classmates (and later their teacher) to be sure that what they wrote is understandable and there are no mistakes. They will then rehearse the show before recording it.  
              
3. Teacher shows Ss how to use Podomatic after signing up.

4. Teacher starts a blog for the whole class. Ss share the same username and password.

5. Ss record their show in Podomatic.

6. Teacher shows Ss how to embed their podcasts on the class blog.
  
7. Teacher shows Ss how to make comments or leave questions for the different groups’ podcasts. Later Ss can invite parents, teachers, another listeners to include feedback too for the different groups.

8. In class, podcasts can be listened and peers’evaluation can be done according to an evaluation- grid.

9. Teacher evaluates the podcasts according to a grid in order to give feedback to Ss at the end of the    semester.
